Spending Week 16 (July 11 – 17)

With my short vacation and returning home to go right back to work you may have noticed I haven’t posted any spending updates. Annnnd I won’t be posting them now either, let me explain:

I promised to post the total cost of my trip; I saved all the receipts and tallied up the cost when I got home; $850-$900.

Yikes! It was an expensive camping trip but very much worth it. Then, a few days after returning home I had planned to do these posts and update my budget but after losing my USB stick I was freaking out and unable to do so because… I’d have to start from scratch, until Evan from MJTM suggested Dropbox and saved my day, basically. So since my little vacation I’ve updated my budget to include all my expenses and I’ve copied my budget to dropbox so I’ll never lose it again…. Phew! But with all that going on I never wrote my spending reports for the blog and it’s a bit of a hassle to dig through it all again so I decided to just start fresh this week!

No spend day!

– $7.72 mason jars (BM)
– $3.37 groceries

No spend day!
– $101.36 Home phone & internetz
– $90.36 Electric

– $5 Pool (BM)

– $126.97 Mortgage
– $125 Extra mortgage payment
-$23.99 Birthday cake (BM)
– $92.98 home/life/auto insurance

– $4.62 groceries
– $14.63 Groceries

+642.73 Income
– $12 movie & drink (BM)

Income: +$642.73
Budgeted expenses: $559.26
Budgeted Blow Money: $48.71
Renovation: $0
Notes; BM=Blow Money

This coming week I’m going to plan out my income for the next few weeks because I want to have at least $750 back in my emergency savings account, I’m going to try for 5 no spend days as well, something I’ve NEVER done before.

  1. Wow, you basically spent $50 this week outside of your regularly scheduled expenses. What an accomplishment – you are killing it! Keep up the good work. I really like your weekly spending updates – make your progress very transparent.
