You found my blog, how?

I like to keep things light around here so today I thought I’d do something fun. =)

If you are a blogger like me you may notice in your STATS that people find websites by the oddest searches on the internet and today I want to respond to one in particular;

what would happen if humans didn’t have nickel in them

Ummmmm….. Actually I’m not sure how to respond to that, would we die? Let’s see what google says; (my search query; ‘nickel in the human body’)

My search yields the following from this website;

Though many scientists suspect that nickel is necessary for good human health, it has not been proven. People with certain liver and kidney diseases are known to have low levels of nickel in their bodies. Also, excess nickel in the body is associated with a high incidence of heart disease, thyroid disease and cancer. In both of these cases, the significance of the amount of nickel in the body is unknown. Some scientists think that nickel affects hormones, cell membranes and chemicals called enzymes. Whatever the case, nickel certainly appears to affect human health, even though we do not know exactly how.

So there’s that, now you know. What’s the oddest internet search you’ve ever run into? I’ll be the first to admit that I very regularly ask the most random questions on the internet. :p

  1. My most random search has been “What should I do”, I don’t know if it was a philosophical question, but the only answer that I have on my site is what should borders do 🙂

    The interesting thing is people spend almost 4 minutes on the site when they come via this query. May be it is not so philosophical and they are just bored and asking google what should they be doing “right now” 🙂

  2. I always get a lot of people finding me from searching “I’m fat, short, in-debt. How do I attract girls?” (or variants thereof) I always wonder to myself if they’ve found a site with the answer, and if they’ll share it with me 😛

  3. It cracks me up what people search for. My latest is true or false. Don’t ask me what they are looking for but it seems to bring them to my site.

  4. My favorite search term was “chartreuse bolero.” It was a random example in a post of a superfluous, unnecessary expense that one wouldn’t end up using and would be a waste of money. I’m not sure it’s quite what the searcher was hoping to find!

  5. I feel like the kid who forgot it was “show-and-tell” day, but I don’t have a great search term to share. I just wanted to express just how hard it’s been keeping my coffee down while reading this. Great post and comments to start my work day. Thanks, Andrea!
